Make a tax deductable donation and support Anthony Garcia create a unique and emotive short film to be launched at the Brisbane Powerhouse. Working in collaboration with award winning local film Director Peter Ireland, credited Producer Veronica Fury (www.furyproductions.com), Anthony is creating an immersive short film “Breathing Underwater”, inspired by our evolving urban life experience. This unique event sees the evocative music of guitarist composer Anthony Garcia melded with film for the first time. Set to the score Breathing Underwater, the title track of Garcia’s new CD release of the same name, this emotive short film uses the contrasting natural beauty of Brisbane’s urban landscape as a backdrop.

Maleny Autumn Classical Music Festival

World renowned didgeridoo master William Barton and acclaimed guitarist/composer Anthony Garcia join forces to present a unique program of music to be held in the Artspark Australia, 407 Mt Mellum Road Maleny, home of the Ken Hinds Cultural Heritage collection.

The performance will see the world premier of White Notes Between Heaven and Earth, a new work for guitar and didjeridu by Garcia and Barton inspired by the evocative artwork on display at Artspark and the immense beauty of it’s natural surrounds. The gallery, with stunning views of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and cradled by the D’Aguilar mountain range is home to the work of some of Australia’s finest indigenous and non-indigenous painters. “I entered the gallery I was immediately engulfed by the creative potency of the paintings I saw. This magical fusion of art and nature has helped inspire the composition we will premier at this years festival.”

New CD

NEW CD: Anthony has been in the recording studio with William Barton to record the debut CD Desert Stars Dancing. Due to be released in April 2010 this CD captures the magical essence of these two instruments.

In Sydeny with the AUSTRALIAN BRANDENBURG ORCHESTRA
Anthony will perform with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra for their Christmas concert series Noel Noel. In 2009, celebrate Christmas with the sacred songs and sounds of Latin America. The 11th Noel! Nole! features rare musical delights from Bolivia, Mexico and Peru, plus traditional European carols.
Performed by the soaring voices of the Brandenburg Choir and musicians on period instruments, this is an all-new concert to delight and inspire you.

POWDERFINGER at THE ZOO

Anthony supported POWDERFINGER on Wednesday 30th September 2009 at the Zoo, Fortitude Valley. Anthony performed a set with a strong Latin flavour and shared some of his more "pop" inspired works before an animated crowd at The ZOO. Powderfinger took to the stage and gave the audience a taste of their new album as well as some of the classics! The crowd loved it! T

Japan Tour 2009
Anthony has just returned from his first tour to Japan performing in Kobe, Kyoto, Nara and Osaka. Anthony performed as a soloist as well as with renowned Japanese Shakuhachi Master Mr Tifu Mitsuhashi. Together they performed in an ancient temple located in Kobe and premiered “Four Sketches” a piece Anthony wrote in 2007 for guitar and shakuhachi. A great afternoon was experienced by a vibrant 300 plus audience as Anthony Garcia and William Barton performed with their briliiant musicianship. Joined in the second half by the Townsville Guitar Orchestra and later by the Butterfly Orchestra for the premier of Ulysses Blue the concert was certainly a very special moment for all.
